The Maps series depicts various viewpoints that investigate the psychogeographical act of navigation and self-positioning. In the “walkscape”, traces of movement, memories and time piece together diagrams of direction. Winding roads and indeterminate footpaths amalgamate and diverge in form. Outlines of cities, fragments of architecture and moments of re-orientation exist alongside each other. Within this dynamic place, a unitary environment takes shape and an anthropic relationship reveals itself.

Maps was created by Adrian Sheers during his enrollment in the 2022 Marist Venice Biennale Program that took place in Venice, Italy. From October 20, 2022 - November 22, 2022, Maps was included in the Marist Venice Biennale Program Exhibition at the Steel Plant Studios Art Gallery in Poughkeepsie, New York.
